In the frame of the Interreg Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Community (MBPC) project led by ETC-UMA, the international gathering of partners in Brussels from 2 to 4 November 2022 at the European Committee of the Regions attracted the attention of the press particularly concerning the efforts to engage coastal cities and marine protected areas in transformative actions towards a more resilient Mediterranean.
Together with MedCities Secretary General Josep Canals, partner to ETC-UMA in the MBPC project and in the ENI CBC MED funded project ENSERES for ENhancing Socio-Ecological RESilience in Mediterranean coastal areas, also coordinated by ETC-UMA, an urgent call for better and more integrated policies and measures across the region has been voiced to EU and Mediterranean actors to act now and protect our future.
