The European Topic Centre at the Universidad de Málaga (ETC-UMA) is organising a hands-on user workshop for representatives of the Spanish Ministry for Agriculture and Environment about remote sensing products and services provided by the European Commission’s Copernicus programme. This workshop is part of the user related activities of the H2020 project SWOS (Satellite-based Wetland Observation Service) aiming at capacity building of national user with regards to satellite-based wetland and environmental monitoring. These activities focus on raise awareness of the upcoming SWOS tools and products and will provide the basis to achieve the acceptance and adoption of new satellite-based monitoring tools in the users’ workflows.

During the workshop, the possibilities that provide the use of the new Sentinel satellite images and other Copernicus products, in general, the tools developed in the framework of SWOS as well as the benefits of integrating them into existing workflows of the different thematic services of the Spanish Ministry of Environment will be presented and discussed.
